A frequent Pvu II RFLP of the human gastrin releasing peptide gene
نویسندگان
چکیده
SOURCE/DESCRIPTION: pB12, a 650 bp cDNA cloned at the Pst I and Hind III sites of pSP64 (Spindel et. al.). P0LYM0RPHIS: Pvu II detects two allelic fragments at 8.9 kb and 8.3 kb. OTHER COMMENTS: To obtain better separation of bands electrophorese on a 0.8% agarose gel until the xylene cyanol dye is at least 9 cm from the origin. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: We thank Ms. Denise Boorman for technical help.

Preparation and evaluation of 67Ga-DOTA-Bombesin (7-14) as a tumor scintigraphic agent
Introduction: Bombesin is a 14-aminoacid peptide isolated from frog skin. The mammalian counterparts of the frog peptide are neuromedin B (NMB) and gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP). Bombesin (BBN) is a peptide showing high affinity for the gastrin releasing peptide receptor (GRPr). Prostate, small cell lung cancer, breast, gastric, and colon cancers are known to over...
متن کاملCandidate Gene Polymorphism for IL-Rγ and ChB6 Genes in the Indigenous Chicken of North Western Himalayan State of Himachal Pradesh, India
Present investigation was carried out to identify DNA polymorphism of IL-2Rγ and ChB6 genes. Sixty five birds belonging to the indigenous chicken of Himachal Pradesh were utilized. Good quality DNA samples were subjected to PCR-RFLP analysis using chicken specific primers. Overnight restriction enzyme digestion was carried out at 37°C with IU Hph I and Pvu II for IL-2Rγ and ChB6 genes, respecti...
متن کاملGastrin-releasing peptide-related peptides in a human malignant lung carcinoid tumor.
Recent immunohistochemical findings have indicated the presence of gastrin-releasing peptide in normal and pathological human lungs. Gastrin-releasing peptide is a 27-amino acid peptide isolated from porcine gut which bears considerable carboxyterminal homology with bombesin. We have characterized the gastrin-releasing peptide-like peptides present in a human malignant lung carcinoid tumor by g...
متن کاملRegulation of the gastrin promoter by epidermal growth factor and neuropeptides.
The regulation of gastrin gene transcription was studied in GH4 pituitary cells transfected with constructs comprised of the first exon of the human gastrin gene and various lengths of 5' regulatory sequences ligated upstream of the reporter gene chloramphenicol acetyltransferase. Gastrin reporter gene activity in GH4 cells was equal to the activity of a reporter gene transcribed from the endog...
متن کاملExpression of the Gastrin-releasing Peptide Receptor Confers a Growth Response to Bombesin in Immortalized Human Bronchial Epithelial Cells1
We have introduced a human gastrin-releasing peptide receptor ex pression vector into an immortalized human bronchial epithelial cell normally unresponsive to the ligand bombesin. Successfully transfected cells express specific binding sites at a density similar to that found at the surface of human lung cancer cells and show an elevation of intracellular calcium concentration in response to bo...
